Untamed Hope has its FIRST residents! Fred and George, a dynamic duo with captivating personalities and a gentle demeanor, are now residents at Untamed Hope. Surrendered to our care on 12/30/23, these adorable rats have transitioned from uncertainty to a forever home filled with love and possibilities.
Named after the beloved Weasley twins from the magical world of Harry Potter, Fred and George bring their own enchantment (and mischief) to our refuge. Fred, the smaller of the two, boasts a striking dark grey coat with a distinctive white stripe down his belly. While George, the bigger brother, dons a beautiful grey and white ensemble.
The first few days of transitioning into their new home brought about some slightly nervous behavior from Fred and George. But with each new day, we observe them getting more comfortable and more curious. It’s been almost 2 weeks now, and they are allowing gentle touches on their heads and back, eagerly taking food from our hands, exploring their enclosure and surroundings with excitement, and participating in mutual grooming (a very good sign of a bonded and happy pair).
We are privileged to witness Fred and George opening their hearts to the warmth of human companionship. Each day, their trust in us grows, and with it, the bond that transforms a refuge into a true home.
